I Heart Savannah is at is again!

We are at it again!  This time in the Pooler community.  We are putting out requests for food items on a bunch of mailboxes in Pooler.  If you get one, just put your canned/boxed goods in a plastic grocery bag and leave them on your front doorstep on the date indicated on the card.  We will come back by and pick them up and deliver them to a local food pantry.

I Heart Savannah is powered by Canvas Church.

150 bags

We picked up over 150 bags of food Saturday and then donated them to a mission downtown this morning. Thanks to CrossPointe Church Youth from Valdosta for all their help, we couldn’t have done it without you! The mission told me they average 1 bag of food per week per household… so that means that 150 more families will be eating this week!!! Thanks to the Ardsley Park Community for being so generous! We will do this again soon… look on your front door!!!

Hygiene Kits

We donated 20 kits to a mission downtown. It may not seem like a lot in the scheme of things until you realize that when people come to them for a kit, they can say “YES” 20 more times. We have to start somewhere and I for one am excited about what I Heart Savannah has planned for the future! Stay tuned for events in April!

Here are a few photos of the kits…

Saturday In The Park

Today was great! We hung out at Hitch Park. Played games, grilled hot dogs, drank lemonade. (most of which spilled on me). But most importantly, Spread Love!

Fun times were had by all

*The Savannah Baptist Center is allowing us to park in their parking lot located at 704 Wheaton Street. This is where Liberty St. turns into Wheaton.  To get to the park you will walk down E. Perry Lane (located to the left of the parking lot)  until you reach Hitch Dr.  Take a left and the library will be on your right. The Park is just behind that.

Let us know if you’ll be there!

Here is the info…

Just because you don’t have a home, doesn’t mean you  don’t like to be clean.

We are working with a downtown mission to create hygiene kits for the homeless.

Each kit should include travel size containers of…

-Washcloth - Toothpaste - Toothbrush - Razor - Lotion - Shampoo - Deodorant - Comb - Soap - Socks - shaving cream

We would like to challenge each household to assemble 2 kits and drop them off in the lobby of Carmike Cinemas on Stephenson Ave. from 9am – 11pm on Sunday Mornings.

Or email us at iheart@savannahcanvas.com to arrange pick-up.
